Remote Hawaii Operations

Led location scouting and massive greens installations in Hawaii while coordinating with UK-based director and DP through comprehensive visual documentation and remote collaboration.

Location Scouting Process

Working with a focused team in Hawaii, we documented multiple potential locations for Devil's Deep Island sequences through drone footage and ground-level videos, recreating specific storyboard angles for remote decision-making.

Location Preparation & Greens Installation

Coordinated massive greens installations to transform natural Hawaiian locations into alien landscapes of Devil's Deep Island. The most challenging operation involved crane work to move over 100 linear feet of vegetation down to Halona Blowhole Cove beach.

Once locations were selected, we executed complex logistics to transform natural environments into otherworldly landscapes. Jungle hiking trails became dense, threatening vegetation corridors, while beach locations received extensive botanical installations.

The scale of greens work required specialized equipment and careful environmental planning to achieve the alien world aesthetic while maintaining location integrity.

Concept Development

Visual development combining location scouting with conceptual artwork to establish the otherworldly aesthetic of Devil's Deep Island while working within the constraints of real Hawaiian environments.

Final Production Results

The culmination of extensive location preparation, greens installation, and visual development work, transformed into the otherworldly Devil's Deep Island sequences in the final film.
